The Practice.





KB Wilde Consulting is a building services consultancy, established by two Directors who believe there is a key role to be played by a consultancy offering large firm professionalism in a small firm environment. Whatever your expectations, we have the expertise to deliver a tailored service to match your individual requirements.


The Practice was launched in 2007, during this time we have established long standing relationships with several national and global Clients such as H&M, Harvey Nichols, Hackett, GAP, Carter Jonas and Fullers.


The Practice has its foundation squarely based on engineering design and on-site services. The Directors each have over 35 years’ experience working on many types of projects in a variety of sectors, and have particular strengths in the retail sector where between them they have completed over 45million square feet of sales floor area, in both new build and refurbishment projects. The Directors both share a view of delivering a higher level of service.


The strength of the Practice lies with a handful of dedicated, resourceful engineers and proactive support staff, who can assist throughout the full life cycle of the projects. Our team provide a firm basis of design duties, pre and post tender site roles, all from conception to completion.​​





Ifor Wilde



Managing Director



Ifor started his career in the Health Service before moving to Debenhams, Burtons and progressing to a Regional Director for a major consultancy in Buckinghamshire.


He obtained his BSc(Hons) degree in Building Services from London South Bank University and draws on his mechanical and electrical experience with the building services industry to ensure projects are engineered cost effectively and practically in a co-ordinated manner.

Ifor established KB Wilde in 2007 with the aim of providing practical, cost effective and co-ordinated building services solutions.

Ifor’s 35-year career has included major blue chip commercial, retail, local authority, residential, hospitality, finance, educational and industrial clients.

Ifor has been Services Project Leader on a number of prestigious projects, both in the UK and abroad in Chile, India and Europe.

Paul Broad



Director



Paul has over 35 years of experience in the Construction Industry developing his skills in design, project planning and management, with extensive experience in the retail sector.


Paul's key strengths are a practical understanding and methodical approach to all projects across all disciplines; a high attention to detail and a holistic appreciation of the wider services that need to to be united to deliver a successful project. Paul draws upon his background to move technology forward and look for new ways to add value to our existing and new Clients.​​

feasibility STUDies & SURVEYs





KB Wilde Consulting embark on each new project by undertaking initial surveys and feasibility studies to ensure each project is fully evaluated both in practical and technical terms. This provides the framework required for the successful development and integration of all engineering services within the building and its nearby environment.

KB Wilde Consulting regularly undertake dilapidation and conditional surveys. All surveys & audits are thoroughly assessed to provide clear, concise and factual information, supported, where necessary, by digital photography, video and CAD based drawings.

Our mechanical and electrical design engineers work closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors and end users to understand and develop briefs that get to the core of the project objectives and consequently develop solutions that are efficient and effective.

Our mechanical design services include: Heating systems, Ground and air source heat pump systems, Mechanical and passive ventilation, Domestic water systems, Air conditioning, Comfort cooling, Sustainable design, Renewable energy systems, Automatic controls.

Our electrical design services include: General and specialist lighting, Emergency lighting, Small power, IT systems, Access control, Security systems, Fire Alarms, Vertical transportation, High and low voltage distribution networks, Uninterruptable power supply (UPS).

KB Wilde Consulting provide a hands-on approach to the monitoring and management of mechanical, electrical and sprinkler installation. Our philosophy of site monitoring is to work closely with the contractors and their specialist sub-contractors to ensure a smooth transition from project start to completion, whilst ensuring that the quality of installation and project costs are controlled and maintained.


​We undertake regular site visits and prepare detailed reports on our findings for the Client. We hold regular meetings with the contractor to ensure that their understanding is in line with the requirements of the scheme at all stages throughout the project. We will prepare snagging schedules and work closely with the contractors to close out any issues prior to completion of the project. Prior to project handover, we undertake a practical completion survey to ensure; all systems are fully operational, all as-fitted information is submitted, all certification is made available and that practical seminars are arranged by the controls and other specialists to inform the clients team on the operation of the systems which they are taking over.
